Seeing in the Spirit Activation – Blake Healy

Many people contact me through this blog, asking how to see in the spirit or see more clearly. Here are some wonderful resources, just released this month.

I was excited to see that Blake Healy released some specialized resources for FREE – he is an expert trainer in helping people see in the spiritual realm. If you sign up for a free Patreon account and follow Blake Healy, here are some things you can receive. (If you sign up, the links below will work.)

Week 1 of the Foundations course – this video covers Blake’s story of how he learned to see, a discussion of what seeing the spirit is as well as how to learn the language of heaven and the essential foundation that is required to use the gift of discernment well. At the end of this video is a prayer of impartation. You can also download the handout which has some exercises to help you practice what you learned.

I would watch them in that order – the foundations course will help you understand the terminology he uses. If any of the above links don’t work, here’s the announcement with the original links – Welcome to Patreon.

If this is the kind of training you are interested in, a new Foundations class starts November 10, 2025. There are weekly video lessons by Blake Healy as well as Zoom calls each Monday at 2pm EST (New York time) for 6 weeks, facilitated by Andrew Cone, to discuss the class material. You will have access to a private Facebook Group, and all Zoom calls will be recorded and posted there. Registration closes November 9th. There is a cost for this course – here is the link: Foundations Training Course

If you see this post after the cut off date, I still encourage you to sign up for Blake’s Patreon page so that you can be notified of the next course and any other videos he releases for free. Or you can sign up for a paid account and watch hours of group training discussions and activations. Blake has also done several podcasts on this topic – you can find them on YouTube.

May the Lord bless you as you seek to build His kingdom!

To listen to the interview Debbie did recently with Blake about the gift of seeing, go here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bSuzaIO_jiU.

Known for his unique gift of seeing into the spiritual realm since childhood, Blake Healy shares personal experiences and biblical insight into what it truly means to see in the Spirit. Listeners will gain a greater understanding of spiritual discernment, how the supernatural intersects with daily life, and how God uses seers to bring clarity, healing, and truth to the Body of Christ.

I am not familiar with Debbie Axson but I am familiar with Blake Healy and I have heard of Jimmie Reed. I don’t see any details about whether there is a live stream available. Debbie Axson has a YouTube channel so perhaps she will share some of the conference sessions there. If you go, let me know! 🙂

How to See in the Spirit

Last night I was in a prayer meeting and one of the ladies (JC) asked how she could see in the spirit. Often when we would pray together as a group, someone would say what they saw. This was challenging for her. She did not see things in the spiritual realm and didn’t know how to develop this ability.

Before we started praying, I briefly shared some things with her. This morning I received a message from JC saying,

Thank you for your tips on how to connect my hearing sense with my seeing sense. It was so good for me – I experienced some breakthroughs (she gave examples). Thank you so much, I am blessed! Glory to the Father! Thank Him for letting me move forward little by little.

Here are the things I shared with her – in case they might help you too.

First, what is your strongest sense? Do you see, hear or feel? Most of us perceive the unseen realm of God’s kingdom by one of these senses. I’m primarily a feeler. JC said she is primarily a hearer.

I encouraged her to focus on what is already comfortable for her – hearing. Then when someone else describes what they see, imagine that scene in your mind and see if the Lord will let you hear something that relates to what the other person is seeing. Imagine what you are hearing. This helps to connect the two senses.

Don’t focus on what you can’t do – focus on what you CAN do. Then share it with the group. Even if it seems very small or insignificant. What you focus on will grow. It also validates it for your mind.

Our mind (natural man) often questions what our spirits perceive. Our mind is used to being in charge and interpreting the world around us based on our 5 natural senses, right? So when you start using your spiritual senses, the mind tries to jump in and take charge. It often questions what you are perceiving and tries to convince you that you are wrong or stupid or even crazy. It creates doubt (the opposite of faith).

a photo of a little girl with her hands on either side of her face, looking worried.

When you express what you are sensing in the spirit, it feels like a big risk. You risk being seen as foolish or sounding crazy. But guess what? When you say out loud what you are sensing, it validates it in your mind. It makes it easier to accept, which builds your faith and opens you up to sensing even more! It is honoring the Lord by honoring what He is showing you.

As you do that, your senses get sharper and they begin to work together. As JC practiced last night, by focusing her listening skills, she suddenly got visual pictures! She told me that some of the things she saw seemed impossible. But she told herself to accept it. After she did that, someone else in the group would describe the same thing she was seeing – confirmation! She was ecstatic! That meant she wasn’t crazy or just making things up (which is what the natural mind wants you to think).

Saying out loud what you are sensing brings it from the unseen realm into the seen realm. It brings it from the kingdom realm into the natural realm. It connects the two realms in our natural reality which makes it feel or seem more real. It IS real, but our minds often discount it because it’s from the spirit. This teaches our natural mind how to receive and accept the things from the spirit.

Here’s another exercise you can do to practice seeing:

  • Look around the room you are in. Then close your eyes and imagine the room. Look around it in your mind’s eye. How much detail can you see? Practice this a few times until you can clearly see as much detail as possible.
  • Ask Holy Spirit to show you where to look in the room. Focus on that area with your eyes still closed. Ask Him to show you something from the unseen realm. Wait and see what He shows you. Then ask Him to explain what you are seeing and He will.

I did this exercise with a friend and she saw an angel in my living room. Sometimes people have told me they see other things with this exercise like a portal or an item like a sword or a tree.

“A spiritual kingdom lies all about us, enclosing us, embracing us, altogether within reach of our inner selves, waiting for us to recognize it. God Himself is here waiting our response to His Presence. This eternal world will come alive to us the moment we begin to reckon upon its reality.” – A. W Tozer, The Pursuit of God

Let me know what tips have helped you to develop your spiritual senses. Comment below so we can all learn from each other. When you do the exercise I described above, please share what you saw. If you see anything dark or scary, ask Jesus, “Where are You in this picture?” Then focus on Jesus and watch what He does. 🙂

Why Can’t I See or Hear in the Spirit?

A few years ago I was asked to intercede for a meeting at church while the speaker was presenting – the speaker was a friend of mine and she felt she needed “extra prayer” for this meeting, especially for people’s hearts to be open to receive God’s love for inner healing. As I prayed with another intercessor in a small side room away from the meeting, we saw “in the spirit” the room full of people listening and they all had helmets on their heads. I asked the Lord about the helmets because it was clear that these helmets were preventing them from seeing or hearing what was being said. They were solid black motorcycle helmets. What He showed me was that it was unbelief in His goodness – and we needed to pray for these helmets to be removed. We did pray for that and it was amazing how He showed up to heal people! Their hearts opened to Him and His love was tangibly felt by many – we were so happy! 😍

Later I asked for more insight about these helmets and how they affected our lives. Here is what I received.

The Helmet of Unbelief prevents you from perceiving truth, especially the truth of the unseen spiritual realm. It prevents you from experiencing Truth – Truth is a Person (Jesus). You cannot hear Him, see Him, feel His touch, smell Him or taste His goodness. You cannot know Him intimately. Your senses are clouded; you feel dull and foggy. It is like wearing a motorcycle helmet with a solid black face screen – you can’t see anything and you can’t hear clearly (aka Deaf & Dumb spirit). I’ve experienced this, have you?

You can see a little bit sometimes, but not clearly. Being able to see and hear a little bit makes you think you can see & hear clearly because you don’t know any better. You think it’s “normal” – the way you see and hear is all you know.

The Helmet of Unbelief is “orphan thinking” – it is the helmet of victimization. Stubbornness, Pride and Independence fueled by Fear and Self-Rejection keeps the Helmet of Unbelief on. We don’t want to walk by faith – we want to see FIRST and then choose to believe. It’s not until you choose to ACT to trust Him – then you can ask for grace to remove the Helmet of Unbelief. It’s an act of faith – you do it BEFORE you can see and you are rewarded with sight. 😃

Having an encounter with God gives you a glimpse of how good life can be WITHOUT the Helmet of Unbelief. You become dissatisfied – you don’t want to go back to your “normal” life. You don’t want to settle for less – now you want MORE.

Hearing someone’s testimony of God’s goodness in their life confronts the unbelief in us. If He did it for them – He could do it for me too! You may have experienced God’s goodness in a way that I have not yet experienced it. By sharing your story with me, it gives me faith.

What can we do? Ask the Holy Spirit to reveal areas of unbelief in our hearts and how to remove them. Ask Holy Spirit to show you what it looks like in YOUR life.

You can CHOOSE what to think. That’s free will. That’s why “repent” means to change the way you think. We are not in control of many things, but we CAN choose what we think, what we believe. Which helmet are you wearing – the Helmet of Salvation or the Helmet of Unbelief? 😊 The choice is yours!

If you have any insight to add to this, please feel free to comment below. I share these things on this blog so we can have a conversation and each learn from each other. We all see in part so when we each bring our “part”, it makes a fuller picture (like a jigsaw puzzle). Do you have something you’d like to add? I’d love to hear it! 😃
