The Veil by Blake Healy – Amazon link
The_Veil_Healy
The Veil is a refreshing look at the gift of “seeing in the Spirit”. Blake Healy is from Bethel Church in Atlanta. He has been seeing the unseen realm with his natural eyes since he was a toddler and never knew this was unusual … until he started being tormented by his visions. Thankfully, he encountered Christian leaders who helped him understand his gift. Now, he helps others fine tune their own gifts of perceiving the unseen realm.

I enjoyed the book – it’s mostly stories with several golden nuggets of wisdom thrown in. I highly recommend it – it’s a good read. In the back he has some exercises to help you fine tune your gift – simple & practical. To read my full review – go here.

The book came with a prayer of impartation CD when I ordered it from Randy Clark’s ministry. I do not know if the Amazon version also includes this CD.

Update: Blake now offers a recording of the his “Seeing in the Spirit – Workshop”:  In this workshop Blake shares his testimony and his heart regarding the gift of seeing in the spirit, along with several stories that illustrate the overwhelming love of our God. Over two hours of questions, answers, and keys to growing in the gift of seeing are included in this extended digital version. 4 hours total – mp3 format. Click here to for more info

Open My Eyes, Lord by Gary Oates – Amazon link
Open_My_Eyes_Oates
Gary Oates’ book chronicles his surprising initiation into seeing in the Spirit while he was on a missions trip to Brazil with Randy Clark. It is an enjoyable read. Gary also offers this on CD – not the whole book, but the main message and a prayer of activation.

In the book, he gives specific hindrances that can prevent you from seeing as well as prayers to pray to open up your eyes to the unseen realm. I attended Gary’s workshop many years ago and I highly recommend it. It helped me identify what were my hindrances and it gave me confidence to develop this gift. I can definitely “see” better now – after following his instructions. It works!

This is a great book for beginners who are interested in this topic and want to learn more.

Within Heaven’s Gates by Rebecca Springer – Amazon link

This is a great little book – very inspiring! It shares one woman’s experience of going to heaven. She shares a lot of little details – like how her “mansion” was decorated based on her personal preferences, how she recognized old friends, how incredible it was to be in the presence of Jesus and so many other wonderful things she experienced. It will put your mind in a heavenly place.

It’s very short. I found it very encouraging – I have often given away copies to friends or family members who have recently lost a loved one. It helps to give a mental picture of what their loved one may be experiencing in heaven.

Imagine Heaven by John Burke – Amazon link
Imagine Heaven book cover

This book is very encouraging and inspiring. It really helped me after someone close to me passed away unexpectedly. It has over 100 stories of people who have experienced life after death, giving us a glimpse into what that might look like for us. The author does a very good job comparing these stories to what the Scriptures say about heaven. It answers a lot of questions like, “Will I be myself? Will I see friends and loved ones? What about children and pets?”

I’ve purchased several copies and given them as gifts to those who have recently lost a loved one. They tell me the book really helped them too. ❤

Experiencing God by Henry Blackaby – Amazon link

Experiencing God is a WONDERFUL book – no, it’s a wonderful experience! It is the kind of book that “reads” you. I was thrilled when I started reading this book – I had finally found an author that described God the way I experienced Him. Then I discovered the workbook and went through it with a group of friends (the most recommended way to read it). LOVED IT! Then I did it again with some young Christians who were eager to grow. Then I had two older ladies ask me to meet with them and go through it. Then my church offered it as a class and bought the DVDs of Henry Blackaby teaching the material to supplement the reading. So I attended the class.

Needless to say, even though I have been through the material over and over, it never gets old. It is great for anyone who wants to draw closer to God, to understand how to do things WITH God and how to follow His leading. Truly, I highly recommend this book to every Christian.

Experiencing Father’s Embrace by Jack Frost – Amazon link
Experiencing_Fathers_Embrace_Frost
Experiencing Father’s Embrace changed my life. I had already been a Christian for over 25 years when I read it. Jack Frost had an encounter with the Father’s Love that changed his life. The book is mostly about his experiences and how it changed him – as a pastor, as a father and as a husband. For me, God used it to make some things “click” in my heart that I had never realized before. One line I’ll always remember – “You have already received all of the love of God that you will ever receive.” That told me that when I felt unloved, then something was deceiving me because I already had all the love of God I needed in my spirit – where the Holy Spirit was. The challenge for me was figuring out how to access it so I could FEEL it. Thankfully, the Father showed me how to do this and now I can’t imagine living without daily access to His love. I highly recommend this book. There are also some DVDs available of Jack Frost teaching this material at a conference. I watched them – they are also very good.

This Present Darkness by Frank Peretti – Amazon link
This_Present_Darkness
This Present Darkness is a great primer into how the unseen realm is affected by the choices of Christians and those that don’t believe. Wow – it really inspires you to pray! Yes, it is fiction … but there are definitely some elements of truth here that I have not seen illustrated so clearly anywhere else. For those who are sensitive (like me), some of the action is intense – don’t let it create “fear of the devil” in you.

Frank does an excellent job of helping you become more aware of the unseen realm all around you in daily life. He shows people going through the normal details of their day and then he shows the angels and demonic spirits affecting the people in the story. It’s an excellent read – very exciting. The kind of book you don’t want to wait until 10pm to start reading or you may stay up all night!

The Path: Fire on the Mountain, Book One by Rick Joyner – Amazon link

Amazon book cover image

I LOVED this book. It was so incredibly refreshing to me. The story is written like an allegory or a parable of walking with God. It starts with the main character trudging through a dreary wilderness thinking that every step will be his last. He comes across of pool of living water. He drinks some water and suddenly his senses are sharp and clear, he feels rejuvenated and “alive” like he hasn’t felt in years. There are a group of people who ask him to lead them through the wilderness. He agrees and off they go. The rest of the book is the story of their journey through the wilderness & their conversations along the way.

What I loved about it was that many of the truths presented are not your typical “Sunday school curriculum”. They are MUCH DEEPER than that. I appreciated that Rick was willing to go out on a limb and deal with some tough issues that most people in the Christian faith ignore or deny. He did it in a respectful manner, but he was direct and firm. I like that. I am hoping that this book will be read by many. Perhaps it will inspire others to take the trek into the wilderness of true intimacy with Christ. To read my full review with excerpts, click here.

Freedom through Forgiveness by Sandy Walker – Amazon link
Freedom_Walker
This book is FULL of awesome exercises that helped me find emotional freedom. They are really simple to do – they take like 5-10 minutes. There’s some for dealing with Fear, Rejection, Barriers to Love, Soul-Ties and Lies you believe about yourself or other people. My favorite ones are the Lie Detector and the Fear Finder. I use them often. Sometimes I feel different after I do the exercise, sometimes I don’t, but either way I notice myself changing a LOT on the inside.

I highly recommend this book. It’s had a BIG impact on who I am today. The exercises are so simple that you can use them to help other people – you just read it to them, step-by-step. I’ve done this and it’s been effective. In fact, one of my friends used the Fear Finder exercise with her daughter who’s 9 years old and it reduced her fear.

Victory Over the Darkness by Neil Anderson – Amazon link

Freedom from Darkness and Evil Spirits

This is a great book for those who suffer from the oppression of darkness. The author makes the “freaky” not so weird. He explains the supernatural unseen realm in a way that makes it understandable. This book really helped Andrea find validation for her spiritual gifts of being able to sense the unseen realm. It is full of Scripture for those who are interested in what the Bible says about the spiritual realm and our authority over darkness.

Bondage Breaker by Neil Anderson – Amazon link

Freedom from Darkness & Demons

This is another good book by Neil Anderson on the supernatural realm. He explains how we get entangled with darkness and how to get free. He gives specific guidance for how to deal with irrational feelings, negative thoughts and unhealthy patterns of behavior.

Steps to Freedom in Christ by Neil Anderson – Amazon link

Steps to Freedom in Christ by Neil Anderson

This book is really powerful – I know many people who have seen instant results when they prayed the prayers in this book! I have heard benefits such as not having nightmares anymore, being able to think clearly, being able to concentrate, understanding Scripture for the first time and experiencing tremendous peace. It is suggested that you read Victory Over the Darkness (listed above) first so that you understand how to do the steps in this book.

I have done these steps and I have helped other people do these steps. If you are new to the Christian faith, I would recommend you find someone more experienced to help you go through them.
